Married almost 17 years to Catherine. Three kids - Daniel 14, Sarah 11 and Aaron is 6. Female chocolate lab - Sadie, she's about 9 and will sneak into my closet to snack on energy bars, etc.

I pretend to know stuff about energy efficiency in industrial settings, particularly oil and gas production. Don't ask because it ain't exciting.

IMSG will be my first Ironman. I did a half-ironman in September at Rancho Seco - 5:20 and it felt pretty good. It was a pretty warm run and my time reflects that. I'm hoping that I can survive the hills in SG and not embarass myself in any of the disciplines.

My exercise history includes 17 marathons (SG 2000-present, Boston 07 (see pic of me in red poncho), 08 and a handful of others). While most envy my natural runner's build (5'6", 173#), I've managed to run a sub-3 marathon (barely, 2:55:52 in 2010 SG). I think I've logged over 11,000 miles since April 1999, so you can say I've developed a habit of regular running. I'm a bit of a gearhead (see AMG SLS - yep, I've done a few laps in a car I'll never afford).
